This ride is a mix of Forest Service roads, jeep tracks, and singletrack. It affords the rider some spectacular views and a variety of wooded and sagebrush terrain. It is definitely one of the favorites in the Valley. A great ride to do early in the morning or late in the evening in the summer.

To the Trailhead: From Winthrop, drive 1/8 mile west on Highway 20 to the West Chewuch Road. Turn right. Drive north 6 miles to the Cub Creek Road and follow for 1.7 miles. Park at any one of the pullouts near the end of the paved road.

The Ride: Continue up the Cub Creek Road. Stay right at the first fork, heading onto road 100. At the "Deer Country" interpretive sign bear right onto marked jeep track and single track. After traversing the ridge, the route eventually joins road 025 and heads back down to Cub Creek Road. Take a right on Cub Creek Road and head back to the start.
