The Tiffany Mountain Loop is a spectacular high altitude ride. It can be difficult to follow in places and does contain some hike-a-bike, but the views from Freezeout Ridge are amazing and Tiffany Lake is a beautiful alpine lake. For the rider wanting to get on his bike and not get off until the ride is done, there are better choices. However, for the rider who doesn't mind being off the beaten track a little in exchange for scenic beauty, this is the one.

To the Trailhead: From the center of Winthrop, head north on Riverside Avenue which will wind around on it's way out of town, eventually becoming the East Chewuch Road. Follow this until just before the bridge over the Chewuch River. At this point bear right onto Forest Service Road #37. Follow this road until it's junction with Road #39. Bear left onto Road #39 and follow it to Freezeout Ridge. Park here.

The Ride: Continue on Road #39 towards Tiffany Springs Campground. Immediately across the road from the campground the Tiffany Lake Trail starts. Follow the trail down past Tiffany Lake and up to Honeymoon Pass. At the pass bear right onto the North Summit Trail towards Whistler Pass. At Whistler Pass, turn right onto the Freezeout Ridge Trail. Follow this trail back to the start of the ride.
